Dispatched for a structure fire with Spangler assisting.  Units arrived on scene to find a back hoe on fire in a garage.  Back hoe was extinguished using CAFS on 501 preventing any structural damage to the garage.  One burn patient was transported by ambulance.

Dispatched for smoke in a structure assisting Spangler.  Cancelled by 58 Chief prior to responding.

Dispatched for a vehicle accident with entrapment.  Units arrived on scene to find no entrapment.   CFR504, E501, R503 responded and assisted with vehicle stabilization and traffic control.

Dispatched to assist Portage Fire Dept. with CAFS at a structure fire.  E501 and R503 responded and extinguished the fire using CAFS from 501.  Units returned after operating at the scene for appox. 1 hr.

January 24               14:49         831 Main St.  Susquehanna Twp.
Dispatched for a structure fire.  Cherry Tree, Spangler, Hastings, Commodore, and Nicktown also dispatched to assist.  E501, TN502, R503 responded along with SN583, E552, E521, tankers from Cherry Tree, Commodore and Nicktown.   E501 arrived on scene and found a working fire and attacked with exterior CAFS Line and then interior CAFS line knocking down fire but extensive structural damage to side B roof already occurred.   Due to extremely low temperatures crews remained on scene for several hours and the State Police Fire Marshall was called to investigate.

Dispatched to assist EMS with a landing zone for Medstar.  CFR504 responded and provided a safe landing zone area and assisted EMS. 

February 7               15:07          1901 Philadelphia Ave - Northern Cambria Boro
Dispatched for a vehicle accident.   Arrived on scene to find 1 vehicle on its side into a fire hydrant.  Water Dept. arrived on scene to shut off water to hydrant.  Vehicle was leaking gas and was rolled back onto its wheels.

February 8       12:07         Colver Co-Gen Plant  Cambria Twp.
Dispatched to assist Colver Fire Dept. with a silo fire at a Co-Gen Plant.   E501 responded and provided SCBA crews to apply foam to fire.

February 9        16:57        Greenwich Rd.   Susquehanna Twp. 
Dispatched for a flooded roadway.  Penndot requested to the scene and arrived with a back hoe and opened a drainage ditch.

February 19                      Municipal Rd.  Susquehanna Twp.
Dispatched for wires down.  R503 responded and relayed pole information to the 911 Center regarding a phone line hanging low.  Crew returned available.

February 2311:50Clymer Fire Dept.
Dispatched for a stand by in Clymer fire station.  CFR504 responded and remained on stand by for 3 hours.

February 2312:05 Cherry Tree Fire Station
Dispatched for a stand by in our hall for Cherry tree fire Dept..  CFR504 responded and remained on stand by for 3 hours.

March 21     11:05  2609 Bigler Ave  Northern Cambria
Dispatched with Spangler Fire Dept. for a residential structure fire.  E501, R503 responded along with E582 and SN583.  Crews arrived on scene to find a 2 story residential with heavy smoke showing and fire showing from  sides A and D 1st floor.  Spangler crew and Hope crew entered via side A with 1 ¾ line from E582, 2nd crew from hope entered side C with 1 ¾ line from E501.  Using Hope's TIC the fire was located and knocked down quickly.   The structure received heavy fire and smoke damage to the 1st floor and heat and smoke damage to the 2nd floor.  Crews remained on scene for 2 hours.  State police fire marshall investigated and ruled this fire arson. 

March 24    13:20  3802 St. Stans Ave  Nrothern Cambria
Dispatched for an odor investigation inside a residence.  E501 and R503 responded and utilized both meters and found no readings.  Odor appeared to smell like paint thinner.  Residence was ventilated.  Home owner had no symptoms.  Source was not located.

April 3  05:42  4007 Crawford Ave.  Northern Cambria 
Dispatched for fire out at an apartment building.  Police and fire dept responded and confirmed someone threw lighted material on a porch attempted to start the structure on fire.  Passer-bys saw the fire and put it out and called 911.  

April 4  23:15   305 David Street  Northern Cambria
Dispatched a garage fire not attached to residence.  E501, TN502, CFR504, R503, E582, TN593 responded.  Due to a water problem in the boro at this time the tanker from 59 was added to run cards.  E501 arrived on scene to find smoke showing from the single story garage.  After a CAFS line was charged the front door was opened and a door on side D was opened.  Fire was quickly knocked down with an interior attack by E501's crews.  Crews remained on scene for 1 hour checking for hot spots. 
The cause of the fire was determined to be a plastic bucket with hot ashes left inside the garage. 

April 5  18:49   608 Juniper St  Northern Cambria
Dispatched to a Carbon Monoxide alarm.  E501 responded and crew entered structure after donning SCBA.  CO readings were as high as 219.  Origin was determined to be a damper being closed, damper was opened and residence was rechecked with 0 CO readings.

April 9 13:09    Cherry Tree Fire Station
Dispatched to stand by at Cherry Tree Fire station while they were assisting at a brush fire.  While on stand by CFR504 responded to a separate brush fire.

Dispatched for a brush fire behind this residence.  E501, Tn502 and R503 responded. E582 dispatched also due to CFR504 being OOS.   Units arrived on scene to find approx 50 ft x 100 ft area of dried brush burning toward a heavily wooded area.  Crews utilized Indian tanks and rakes to control the fire and an 1 ¾ line was pulled from E501 to wet down the entire area to prevent rekindle.

Dispatched to assist Indiana station 570, Pine Twp. Fire Dept. with a brush fire at Vetto's junk yard.  R503 and TN502 responded and remained on scene for approx. 1 hour.

Dispatched for a utility pole fire.  R503 responded and found an insulator and line pulled away from pole.  Area was secured, Penelec notified and units returned.

Dispatched for a fire alarm.  E501 responded and found burnt food in microwave oven had set the smoke detector off.  Returned available.

May 521:341015 Elder Ave.  Northern Cambria Boro
Dispatched for a fire alarm.  All units cancelled prior to response by 50 Chief.

May 802:26Shawna Rd  Susquehanna Twp.
Dispatched for smoke in a structure.  Cherry Tree E521 also dispatched to assist.  E501, TN502, R503 responded and found the furnace malfunctioning.  Furnace was placed OOS and homeowner was notified not to use the furnace until he has it serviced.

May 908:04Greenwich Rd.  Susquehanna Twp.
Dispatched with EMS for a vehicle accident, vehicle into a tree.  CFR504 and R503 responded and found 1 vehicle into a tree with severe front end damage.  Patient was self extricated.  Assisted EMS on scene and then provided LZ at NC North ballfield for Medstar2.

May 1017:23Beech St  Northern Cambria Boro
Dispatched for a vehicle accident with entrapment.  CFR504, E501, R503 responded to find 1 vehicle that struck embankment and rolled over onto the roadway.  3 patients extricated without use of hydraulic tools.  All patients transported by EMS.

Dispatched for a car vs pedestrian accident.  CFR504 and R503 responded and were cancelled by Police prior to arrival.

Dispatched to assist with salvage detail and traffic control at a water line break.

Dispatched for a fuel spill on Route 219 from Cottonwood Ave. to Barr Ave.  The Boro street crew was called out and spread sand on the roadway.

Dispatched for a Fire alarm at Wojcik’s apartment building.   E501, R503 responded and upon arrival found smoke conditions on the 3rd floor and a 1st alarm assignment was dispatched.  Upon further investigation they found food burnt on the stove.

Dispatched with Nicktown Fire Co. for smoke in a structure.  Also responding were stations 58 and station 51.  Nicktown Chief arrived on scene and determined a malfunctioning furnace and cancelled all units.

June 2306:52319 Double Dam Rd – Susquehanna Twp.
Dispatched for traffic control and debris on roadway as a result of a vehicle accident.CFR504 and R503 responded.

June 2707:1838th Street – Northern Cambria Boro
Dispatched for a transformer fire.  R503 responded and found the breaker on the pole kicked.  Penelec notified.

June 2811:49164 Helen St. – Northern Cambria Boro
Dispatched for an electric fire.  Cherry Tree also dispatched to assist.  E501, CFR504, R503 responded and found an entrance line from meter had caught fire.  Fire was out prior to our arrival.

Dispatched to assist Clymer Boro Fire Dept. with a structure fire at the Clymer furniture store.  E501 responded and provided draft operations to fill tankers and to supply 5” hose.  TN502 provided tanker shuttle, R503 provided manpower and CFR504 responded and stand by.

July 521:39518 Oil Tank Hill Rd – Northern Cambria Boro
Dispatched to assist Spangler and Nicktown Fire Co.’s at a structure fire.  E501, R503, CFR504 TN502 responded and found the fire out.  Fire ruled arson.

July 800:40Shawna Rd / Greenwich Rd – Susquehanna Twp.
Dispatched for a transformer fire.  R503 responded and found an insulator on fire.  Penelec notified.

Dispatched for a Structure Fire with Cherry Tree Fire Co.  Chief arrived on scene and found burnt food on stove.  Cancelled all units.

Dispatched for a vehicle accident with injuries.  CFR504 and E501 responded to find 1 vehicle into a telephone pole, no entrapment.  Patient extricated and transported to Miners Hospital. Remained on scene until Vehicle removed and Penelec secured pole and wires.

Dispatched to assit Nicktown Fire Dept. at a structure fire.  TN502 and R503 responded and returned available due to fire out.

August 723:451012 Elder Ave. – Northern Cambria Boro
Dispatched for a Structure Fire and the Lifestyles Residential home.  E501, TN502, and CFR504 responded and found fire had been knocked down with a fire extinguisher.  Crew entered building with CAFS line to check for extension.  Fire was intentionally set by one of the residents with lighter fluid on carpet in the bedroom.

Dispatched to assist Nicktown Fire Dept. with a barn fire.  TN502 and R503 responded and assisted with water shuttle.

Dispatched for CO alarm at a residence.  The residence had been evacuated prior to our arrival.  The residence was checked with CO meter with readings in the Living room area of 18 ppm.  No source could be located and the resident was advised to contact a plumber to check the residence before re-entering the residence.

Dispatched for a landing zone for Medstar at the Northern Cambria North ballfield.  E501 responded and provided safe area for landing.

Dispatched for stand by at Clymer Fire Station, Indiana County.  CFR504 responded and remained on scene for approx.  5 hours.   While on stand by CFR504 responded to a vehicle fire on Hillside Dr., crew found a working fire upon arrival and quickly extinguished.  CFR504 responded back to Clymer fire hall for standby.

Dispatched for structure fire at a skills resident home.  Also dispatched were Spangler, and Nicktown and Patton for tanker assistance due to low water volume in the borough.   E501 arrived on scene to find the fire out and all residents evacuated.  Ventilation performed and state police fire marshall contacted to investigate.  Fire was ruled arson.

Dispatched for a tree down across the roadway.  Police arrived on scene and removed tree and cancelled fire dept. prior to responding.

October 1      01:00Oak St., N.C. Pool – Northern Cambria Boro
Dispatched to assist the police with lighting due to an investigation of an arson attempt at the Northern Cambria swimming pool.

Dispatched to assist the police with traffic control for a vehicle accident.  CFR504 responded.

Dispatched for a stand by in Cherry Tree Fire hall.  CFR504 responded and remained on scene for 2 hours.

October 910:16Philadelphia Ave. @ Gum St. – Northern Cambria
Dispatched for a vehicle accident with injuries.  CFR504 responded and found 1 passenger vehicle over the embankment across from Lin’s Sunoco.  Driver of the vehicle had a syncope episode and struck guardrails, spun around backwards down the embankment and struck a tree.  Vehicle was stabilized and patient removed by Veterans EMS and transported to Miners Hospital.

October 1520:03329 Shepard Rd. – Susquehanna Twp.
Dispatched for a gas odor outside the structure.  E501 responded and found a ¼” nipple broke off a gas well metering station in an open field, no danger to residences in the area.  It was determined that this area was Cherry Tree response area  and they were activated and gas company notified.  E501 returned after Cherry Tree Fire Dept. arrived on scene.

Dispatched to assist station 58 with a reported structure fire.  E501, CFR504 responded and were cancelled prior to arrival.

Dispatched for a fire alarm at the Carrolltown Municipal building in Carrolltown Boro.  Carrolltown fire dept currently on other calls.  E501 responded and were cancelled while enroute.

Dispatched for wires down.  50 3rd Asst. responded direct and cancelled all units due to wire being a guide wire.

Dispatched to stand by at Cherry Tree Fire station while they are operating at a structure fire in Arcadia.  E501 responded.

October 3104:11Industrial Park Rd –Cambria Twp.
Dispatched for special call for E501 CAFS to assist Dauntless Fire Dept. at a roof fire at the Gamesa wind mill factory that is under construction.  E501 arrived on scene and supplied 2 aerial trucks with CAFS via 2 2½” supply lines for 4 hours.  E501 pumped 21,000 gallons of water and 131 gallons of class A foam onto the roof of the building.   Construction materials including foam and glue were burning on the roof.

Dispatched to stand by at Cherry Tree Fire station while they are operating at a structure fire in Burnside.  CFR504 responded.

Dispatched to assist Glen Campbell Fire Dept. with a structure fire.  TN502 and E501 responded and assisted on scene for approx. 1 hour.

Dispatched for a vehicle accident, vehicle reported into a structure.  CFR501, E501 responded and found 1 vehicle accident and provided scene stabilization into vehicle could be removed.

Disptached on 1st alarm structure fire reported with entrapment assisting Spangler Fire Dept.   E501, CFR504, TN502 responded and provided water supply assistance, interior attack assistance, and lighting assistance.   Fire has been ruled an arson.

Dispatched for a hit and run vehicle accident.  CFR504 responded and found a utility pole snapped off.  Crew provided scene safety until penelec arrived.

Dispatched to assist Cherry Tree with a propane leak.  E501 responded and found a 100 lb cylinder leaking and dispersed the gas into the atmosphere under a contolled environment.  No danger to occupants.

November 2117:37403 Shawna Rd - Susquehann Twp.
Dispatched for vehicle accident.  CFR505 and U503 responded and found a 2 vehicle rear end collision.   Crews provided traffic control and debris and fluid cleanup.

Disapatched to assist Hastings Fier Dept. at a structure fire.  E501 responded and were advised to stage while 55 crews checked for extension.  No extension found and crew was released.

Disptached for asssit Spangler at scene of an appliance fire.  E501 responded with E582 and SN583 and found fire extinguished.  E501 released and returned available.

Dispatched for smoke in a structure at the Community Alliance Church.  E552, SN583 also dispatched.  E501 responded and found a faulty furnace and cancelled all other units.  Occupant was advised to contact a plumber prior to operating furnace.

Dispatched for stand by at Cherry Tree Fire Station while they worked a structure fire in Arcadia.  CFR504 responded.

Dispatched for a structure fire at the West Branch Sewer Auth building.  Dispatched on 1st alarm were E501, CFR504, TN502, E552, SN583, E582.  E501 was first arriving and layed LDH from hydrant at Philadelphia and Crawford Ave, setting up in front of the building finding heavy smoke conditions from all sides and roof.  Initial interior attack attempted but pushed back due to intense heat conditions on 1st floor and quickly deteriating conditions.  CFR504 layed LDH from the scene to the the creek and set up draft operationsto supply SN583 that set up in front of building.  E582 layed LDH from last hydrant on Spangler water system to the scene.  E552 set up on south east corner of building near the American Legion parking lot using water from Spangler's LDH.   1st assistant Pete Barczak was IC and quickly called for Dauntless Aerial and later called for Pattons aerial to the scene.   Dauntless set up in the alley in the south west corner, rear of the building and Patton set up in the alley in the south east corner rear of the building.  Dauntless E222 provided water supply for their snorkel through draft operations also from the creek.  At 05:30 heavy black smoke was showing from roof and all windows on first and 2nd floors.  At 05:35 fire broke out on the 2nd floor and through the roof.  The walls began showing signs of failure and all operations were moved back from the building.  At 05:43 partial building collapse occurred and by 06:19 3/4 of the building had collapsed.  The owner arrived on scene and advised there were 4,000 tires stored inside the rear and basement of the structure.  Fire operations became surround and drown.  Hope crews remained on scene for approx 13 hours extinguishing hot spots and 2,000 tires that had ignited after the main fire had been extinguished. 

November 2707:52206 Holly Street - Northern Cambria
While on scene of the WBSA structure fire another call came in for an odor investigation inside a structure.  E582 handled the call and found a hole in the flue pipe.  Furnace was turned off and homeowner advised to contact a plumber.

November 2805:29900 Philadelphia Ave - Northern Cambria
Dispatched reduced alarm for a rekindled structure fire.  E501 layed LDH from Philadelphia Ave. @ Crawford Ave. and arrived on scene to find a hot spot in front center part of debris.  CAFS was used to extinguish fire that was fueled by heavy winds overnight. 

November 2811:02306 Juniper St. - Northern Cambria
Dispatched for gas odor inside a structure.  E501 responded and found a pilot light out in stove, gas turned off and residence ventilated.

November 2819:09Shepard Road  - Susquehanna Twp.
Dispatched for a reported explosion.   E501 and U503 responded and check the area around the callers residence for a 3-5 mile radius with nothing found.

November 2917:15122 Lennox St. - Susquehanna Twp.
Dispatched for a flooded basement.  U503 responded and pumped basement with a portable pump.

Dispatched for a tanker assist Glen Campbell Fire Company at a structure fire in Indiana County.  TN502 and S503 responded and assisted with water shuttle.

Dispatched to assist Nicktown Fire Company with a vehicle accident with entrapment.  CFR504 and S503 responded and arrived on scene to find no entrapment and assisted with traffic control.

December 1606:361012 Elder Ave - Northern Cambria Boro
Dispatched for a structure fire at a assisted living home owned by Lifestyles Inc.  Units responding on first alarm were E501, CFR504, TN502, S503, SN583, E552, E582, R554.  50 Chief arrived first on scene, because he lives across the road, and reported a working basement fire all occupants out of the residence.   E501 arrived on scene at the side A of the structure with 4 SCBA men.  2 1 3/4" CAFS line were pulled off of E501 with quick knock down of  fire in basement and extension into first floor area.   CFR504 reversed layed 5" from E501 to hydarant at intersection of Elder and Crawford.  SN583 staged to ther reaf of E501, E552  on scene at side C of structure and pulled 1 1 3/4" CAFS line and protected exposure on side D of the structure.  Ventilation was established through roof and PPV fans.  Hope units remained on scene for 4 1/2 hours.  State Police fire Marshall arrived on scene and ruled the fire arson.  Firefighter Greg Hassen received a minor burn to his neck during the initial attack.

December 1802:57 2310 Crawford Ave - Northern Cambria Boro
Dispatched to assist Spangler with a structure fire.  E501, CFR504, S503 all responded with E582 and SN583 from Spangler.  E501 arrived on scene and layed 5" from hydrant for water supply.  Crew asssited with interior attack and ventilation.  Remained on scene for approx.    
2 1/2 hours.

Dispatched to assist police with traffic control at a vehicle accident.  S503 responded.

December 2301:42Cherry Tree Fire Station
Dispatched to stand by in station for Cherry Tree.

December 2314:55904 Tracy Dr - Northern Cambria
Dispatched to assist Spangler on an appliance fire.  E501 responded  and was cancelled enroute by 58 Chief.

December 2416:59Grace St - Susquehanna Twp
Dispatched to assist police with traffic control.  CFR504 arrived on scene and pulled a Tractor part of a tractor trailer out of a ditch.

December 2602:28Arcadia Rd - Indiana County
Dispatched to assist Glen Campbell Fire Dept. with multile structures on fire.  E501, CFR504, TN502 and S503 all responded and were cancelled enroute.

December 2705:104211 Crawford Ave. - Northern Cambria
Dispatched for smoke in a structure at the Goodwill Building.  Spangler SN583, and Hastings E552 also dispatched to assist.  E501 responded and layed LDH from hydrant at intersection of Philadelphia and Crawford Ave.  to the scene.  SN583 was set up in front of the building on Crawford and E552 was staging.  Thermal imaging camera was utilized and the cause was found to be a malfunctioning furnace.  All units released.

Dispatched for smoke in a structure at a residence.  Spangler SN583, and Hastings E552 also dispatched to assist.  E501, CFR504, TN502, S503 responded.  The cause was found to be a malfunctioning furnace.  All units released.

December 2915:384000 Crawford Ave. - Northern Cambria
Dispatched for a vehicle accident with injuries.   CFR504 and S503 responded and assisted with traffic control and debris clean up.

December 3018:313900 Bigler Ave. - Northern Cambria
Dispatched for a vehicle accident with injuries.  CFR504 and S503 responded and found a 2 vehicle accident.  Crews provided traffic control and debris removal.
