At 10:10 CFR504 was called to the scene for cascade assist. Fire departments from Nanty Glo, Colver, Revloc, Dauntless, Nicktown, and Vintondale were also on scene.

Dispatched to assist Nicktown Fire dept. with our tanker at an occupied structure fire. All occupants were out of the structure upon our arrival. Also responding were Colver fire dept. and Spangler fire dept. TN502 responded and assisted with water supply and a quick knock down was reported and units remained on scene for approx. 1 1/2 hours. Special call was made during mop up for our thermal imaging camera and it was brought by private vehicle to the scene to check for hot spots.

Dispatched to a 100 lbs. propane tank leaking next to a residence. CFR504 and R503 responded to the scene. Crew arrived on scene to find tank venting out of the top valve, an attempt to tighten the valve was unsuccessful and the gas company was notified. Gas company arrived on scene and released the pressure on the tank and crew returned available.

Dispatched for a structure fire in an apartment complex at Cherry Ridge Terrace. Spangler Fire Dept. was also dispatched to assist. Responding were Tanker 502, CFR 501, CFR504, Engine 582, Snorkel 583. Crews found a bedroom involved in fire and black smoke throughout the aptartment. First in crews made an exterior attack threw a window and knocked the fire down and remained on scene during mop up and checking for extension to neighboring aptarments for several hours. There were no injuries reported. The fire was reported to be started by children playing with candles.

Dispatched for a structure fire at Jackie's Rainbow Hotel. Spangler Fire Co. also dispatched to assist. CFR504, CFR501, TN502, R503, E582, and SN583 were on 1st alarm. Multiple 911 calls recieved stating smoke showing from rear of the structure. CFR504 was first unit on scene reporting heavy smoke showing from rear of the structure and laid 5" from the hydrant on Philadelphia Ave at St. Stans Ave. to the rear of the structure. Interior crew advanced a hand line to the 2nd floor where they found a fire in rear room and quickly knocked down the fire and checked for extension in the walls. Quick action averted a large fire due to exposures on both sides of the fire building less than 2 feet apart. Hastings and Patton were also called to assist on scene. Crews remained on scene for approx. 2 hours. The State Police Fire Marshall has ruled the fire ARSON.

Dispatched for Smoke in a structure at a occupied 3 story, 8 unit apartment building. Units responding on first alarm were CFR501, CFR504, TN502, R503, Spanglers units - E582, SN583, Hastings units - E551, E552, R554.
Dauntless (Ebensburg) units - SN223, E221, U225 were dispatched for snorkel assist and Cherry Tree units - E521, R525 were on stand-by in Hope Fire hall. First units on scene reported heavy smoke from 1st and 2nd floor apt. on Cottonwood St. side of structure. Evacuation was in progress. Water supply was established from hydrants on Philadelphia Avenue, & Maple Ave. from the Barnesboro Water Auth and from Bigler Ave. near Sheetz from Spangler Water Auth. and by using drafting from Walnut Run near Giant Eagle.
Initial attack was interior from 2 locations on 1st and 2nd floor using thermal imaging camera and found heavy fire on both floors and in the wall. The floor between apartments was already burned through. Fire was knocked down on 2nd floor but had extended from 1st floor to the roof and into the attic space and fire vented through the roof within 45 minutes of the call. At that time the building was evacuated and exterior attack only allowing for collapse zone. Snorkels from Spangler and Dauntless set up on opposite sides of the structure and proceeded to attack fire from above. Crews remained on scene for 10 hours extinguishing hot spots using SN583. Approx. 20 occupants were relocated to Hope Fire hall for assisted by Red cross and provided refreshments. Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.

Responding units were CFR504, CFR501, TN502, R503, E582, SN583, E551, E552 and arrived on scene to find a 2 story wood structure occupied by one family involved in fire in the first floor and basement areas. Crews blitzed the first floor and then performed interior attack and search on the first floor. All occupants were already outside the structure. Fire damage was held to the basement and 1 bedroom on the first floor, water and smoke damage to the rest of the structure. An overheated furnace appears to be the cause of the fire.

Dsipatched to assist Spangler Fire Dept. on first alarm assignment with a business sturcture fire at West Branch Building Materials. Also dispatched on first alarm were Hastings Fire Dept. and Cherry Tree Fire Dept. Units responding were E582, SN583, CFR501, CFR504, TN502, R503, E551, E552, E521, TN523, R525, SV527, Medic 681 and Medic 691. Initial reports from Police reporting heavy smoke in the area. Crews arrived on scene to find fire venting the roof in the center of the storage area and venting out the rear of the structure. E582, CFR501, E551, and E552 established water supply from a Hydrant on the Spangler Water system, from a Pond on No. 9 Rd, and from drafting from a small stream next to the building. SN583 set up in the front of the structure and attacked the fire from above. Crews used deck guns and 2 1/2" lines to attack the fire and keep it from advancing into the rest of the structure. Crews were on scene for approx 8 hours. One Spangler firefighter was injured in a fall and transported to Miners Hospital for evaluation. State Police Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire.
