Hope Fire Company was chartered on June 9, 1909.  The current Fire Station was constructed in 1956 at the corner of Philadelphia Avenue and 11th Street.

Initial fire protection was furnished be two-wheel hand drawn carts.  In 1918 the apparatus became a pump drawn cart led by Bert McAnulty's team.  In 1923 we went to "gas age" the 1923 Stutz pumper. In 1939 the company built the Fireman's Roller rink at the park to supplement their finances.  In 1947 the Malta building on the present location of the fire hall, was purchased.  In 1954 the Malta building was razed and the construction of the present fire hall was begun.

Hope has kept abreast of its building progress by adding and replacing apparatus and equipment as nescessary for adequate and efficient fire and rescue protection..
